Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio, is a one-of-a-kind destination with a selection of wedding venues that combine historic charm with modern amenities. From intimate gatherings with close friends and family to more significant celebrations, there is something for everyone at this location.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples can choose from three primary event spaces for the reception and four options for the ceremony. To say “I Do,” the soon-to-be-newlyweds can choose between the Village Green, a lush outdoor space surrounded by a canopy of trees, or St. Mark’s Church, a cozy setting for intimate ceremonies with a capacity of 40, built in the early 1900s. The two remaining options are the 1920s Bandstand and the Heritage Inn Courtyard. The circular Bandstand has a capacity of 50 and is adjacent to the Village’s hand-laid brick plaza. The Courtyard welcomes up to 50 invitees around a glorious fountain in a serene garden full of colorful flowers and plants that add a touch of vibrancy and natural beauty to proceedings. These ceremony settings offer cozy intimacy and a sense of romance for the couple and their nearest and dearest.
The Sauder Heritage Inn, Founder’s Hall, and 1920s Main Street Theatre are all available for the reception. The Inn is a welcoming, climate-controlled, carpeted space accommodating up to 100 people, while the beautiful Founder’s Hall holds 500 attendees. The most recent addition is the swanky 1920s Main Street Theater, which seats 120 for the reception’s meal. Within the Theater is the Speakeasy, an authentic, full-service bar that can be hired in unison. This event space was built to give a taste of the Roaring Twenties and provide a unique experience and backdrop for the happy occasion.

History
This one-of-a-kind property was founded in 1976 by Erie Sauder, who often said, “Let us not forget.” The 235-acre site was established upon this premise as a reminder to always remember bygone days and the pioneering spirit of Ohio’s ancestors. Erie built the Village to create a unique experience as a Living History location. Sauder Village contains a Living History craft village and farm home to over 50,000 artifacts and 75 historic structures, and the complex also includes a 350-seater restaurant — perfect for rehearsal dinners.
