FACILITIES & CAPACITY: Brooklyn Grange takes the farm-to-table concept to a whole new level when partner chefs feature produce grown on our own rooftops! In coordination with the best caterers, rental companies, event stylists, and floral designers, the Brooklyn Grange team will help you bring an unforgettable celebration to life.
Brooklyn Grange @ Sunset Park (50-150 guests): Our largest rooftop farm at 3.2 acres. An outdoor gazebo (perfect for a ceremony and welcome cocktails) greets guests as they enter. Outfit our brand-new 3,000-square-foot events building for dinner and dancing–we'll take care of the bespoke bar service for you here! With west-facing indoor and outdoor space, you'll enjoy sunset views of the Statue of Liberty while sipping drinks curated by our in-house bar all year round.
Brooklyn Grange @ the Brooklyn Navy Yard (max 100 guests): A 1.5-acre rooftop farm nestled in the industrial Brooklyn Navy Yard. A 2,000-square-foot paved patio in the center of a rooftop farm sits atop the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The venue allows couples to host a wedding from June through September, with free parking adjacent. The facility serves as the ultimate city destination with the charm of a farm.
SERVICES OFFERED: Couples can host various events at the space alongside the wedding ceremony and reception, including bridal showers, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners. Fully insured, the venue will work with you on the setup and cleanup of your event, as well as lighting and sound. Other services couples can utilize include:
- Private suite
- Third-party vendors
- Preferred caterers only
- Audio equipment
- Covered outdoor space for events, rain or shine
HISTORY: The idea to build one of the largest soil rooftop farms came to fruition in May 2010. Within six days, crews took hundreds of 3,000-pound soil sacks up seven stories to the roof, where they began to shape an urban farm. The hope of creating the rooftop farm was to develop the unused spaces of New York City and create a fiscally sustainable urban agriculture system. Ultimately, the goal includes producing healthy and delicious vegetables to support the ecosystem and provide for the local community. Since its culmination, the city has become more sustainable with cooler air and cleaner waterways.

A beautiful and magical location that you cannot find anywhere else
After looking at a few venues we decided on The Brooklyn Grange because it was far and away the most special and beautiful place we had ever seen. Because of this, our decoration budget was minimal. The fact that it’s a working farm that partners with some of the caterer to use actual produce from the location in the dishes was just so cool to be a part of. On top of that, the view is absolutely stunning. My wife and I are both fans of NYC water towers, so to be able to climb up one to take pictures was really the cherry on top.
We worked with Michele and Claire for coordinating and both of them were kind and patient. They provided a list of vendors (caterers, DJs, photographers, etc.) that are familiar with the space which really helped us narrow down our picks from the infinite pool of possibilities in NYC. They also put together a very helpful event at the venue where a bunch of different vendors (caterers, DJs, photographers, coordinators, photobooths, etc.) setup for taste testings, trials, and meetings. This really helped us fast track our vendor search and made for a great vendor/venue relationship with everyone we worked with.
Michele and Claire were incredibly professional and knowledgeable during our walkthrough and made sure no stone was left unturned when coming up with layout. Wind is a huge factor up there, but they knew exactly where and how everything should be situated. It was perfect! They also helped us organize a babysitter from a sister nonprofit, CityGrowers, to teach the kids about the farm, show the chickens, and really just allow the parents to relax and enjoy the party for a bit!
During and after the wedding one of the things we kept hearing from the guests was how amazing the space was. They really loved the view and we were so happy that we were able to give them this once in a lifetime kind of party!

Dream Team at the Brooklyn Grange
If I could have a wedding at Brooklyn Grange every year I would! This venue is contagiously magical and is one of the most beautiful places in the entire city. Working with Michele, Claire and Chelsea was an absolute joy. The entire team buzzes with positivity, and everyone was so responsive, thorough, helpful, and relaxed throughout our planning. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors which made our wedding day an absolute breeze. Our friends and family are still talking about their time at Brooklyn Grange, it was definitely a special night and one to remember.
